Sustainability Strategy

The Making of Banana Yarn

Sybill’s yarn begins with discarded banana plant stalks, which are processed into fiber and hand-spun in small batches.

“By using agricultural waste and minimal processing, we reduce excess environmental impact while preserving the material’s natural character.”

Tools & Material Extension

In addition to yarn, Sybill creates crochet hooks and knitting needles from a blend of banana fiber and acacia wood.

This extends the brand’s material system and reinforces its sustainable, low-impact approach across both fiber and tools.
